FAQ
$CEC: questions and answers
Answers to the most common questions about $CEC: what it represents, how to subscribe, its risks and the regulation that applies.

1.What exactly is $CEC?
$CEC is a crypto-asset linked to a regenerative agriculture project. Each $CEC represents 100 grams of CO₂ captured through these agricultural practices.
2.Who can subscribe, and how does it work?
Anyone who meets the conditions set out in the official documentation may participate. The process includes registration and identity verification (KYC). The public subscription period opens on 1 October 2026.
3.What does a participant receive?
Participants receive the $CEC tokens they have subscribed for, digitally recorded using blockchain technology. Distribution takes place after the subscription period has ended and payments have been verified, within the following two months as provided in the whitepaper (section G.10). Each transfer of $CEC is completed within a maximum of five business days from payment confirmation (section E.28).
4.What does a $CEC represent, and how is it generated?
One $CEC represents 100 grams of CO₂ captured through regenerative agriculture. The process is: capture → verification → certification → digital recording.
5.What can it be used for?
It enables the digital representation of a unit of captured CO₂ and links it to the impact generated by agricultural activity.
6.Can it be transferred or traded?
Transfers are possible between verified wallets registered in the issuer’s system. At present, there is no guarantee that $CEC will be listed on any platform or that liquidity will be available, as stated in the Risks section of the whitepaper.
7.What are the risks?
Like any crypto-asset, it may lose value. Transfers may also be restricted, and liquidity may be unavailable. In addition, there are risks arising from the project’s dependence on the issuer and the technological risks inherent in blockchain.
8.Is it an investment?
$CEC is a crypto-asset that confers no economic rights, creditor rights or profit-sharing rights. It is not a financial instrument.
9.What regulation applies?
The project operates within the European MiCA framework for certain crypto-assets. The whitepaper has been notified to the CNMV.
10.Who supervises or validates the project?
The project is subject to the regulatory framework applicable to it and has the corresponding documentation. Notification to the CNMV does not mean that the CNMV has approved or certified the project.
11.How is the impact calculated and verified?
The CO₂ captured through regenerative agriculture practices is calculated, verified and certified before being represented through $CEC.
12.How is double counting prevented?
CO₂ capture or reduction is calculated in accordance with the applicable standards and certified by an independent entity. The issuer also verifies the calculation and certification. Before $CEC is issued, the credit or CO₂ capture is retired from its original registry and tokenised. This process prevents double counting and enables the climate impact represented by the token to be documented and tracked in a traceable manner.
13.What is the relationship between $CEC and agricultural production?
The relationship is direct: $CEC tokens are linked to CO₂ captured through regenerative agriculture practices.
14.How does $CEC differ from a conventional carbon credit?
They are not the same. Unlike a conventional carbon credit, which remains in its original registry, $CEC is issued once that credit has been verified, certified and retired from its registry, preventing double counting. $CEC does not confer ownership rights or rights to economic recovery in respect of the underlying reduction.
15.What is the origin of $CEC?
$CEC represents certified carbon capture resulting from regenerative agriculture practices. Its agricultural focus links that impact to food production. This does not mean that forest conservation and restoration have no climate value, or that agriculture is free from the risk of losing stored carbon.
16.Why does $CEC focus on regenerative agriculture, and how does it compare with forest-based solutions?
The agricultural focus reflects the project’s business model. Regenerative agriculture and forest protection and restoration are complementary mitigation pathways; their effectiveness depends on local conditions and management.
Forests store carbon and can remove CO₂ from the atmosphere, although some of the accumulated carbon may be released again through fires, degradation or changes in land use.
In its 2019 report Creating a Sustainable Food Future, the World Resources Institute estimated that, under its baseline scenario, demand for crop calories in 2050 would be 56% higher than production in 2010.
